Amla powder is a botanical ingredient to use thoughtfully, especially around hair color.

What it is

Amla powder is made from Indian gooseberry. In beauty routines, it is often used in diluted hair rinses, masks or oil blends for a botanical ritual feel.

Best for: occasional hair rinses, scalp-comfort rituals and ingredient education. Use carefully: light, gray, blonde, porous or freshly colored hair may pick up tone.

How Glow Rituals uses it

What it cannot do

Amla powder is not a medical treatment for hair loss, scalp conditions or skin concerns. If shedding is sudden, heavy or paired with irritation, it is better to seek professional guidance.

Simple beauty use

For a cautious rinse, whisk ½ teaspoon amla powder into ½ cup cooled tea and ½ cup water, strain well, leave on hair for 3–5 minutes before shampoo, then rinse thoroughly.
