Why this mask is gentle
Amla powder gives the ritual an earthy plant-powder base, aloe keeps the mixture slippery, and a little oil helps the mask move through dry-feeling lengths. This is a cosmetic softness ritual, not a treatment for shedding or hair growth.
Recipe ingredients
- 1 teaspoon amla powder
- 1 tablespoon plain aloe vera gel
- 1 teaspoon jojoba oil or olive oil
- 1–2 teaspoons warm water, added slowly
How to prepare it
- Mix amla powder and aloe vera gel in a clean bowl.
- Add oil and stir until smooth.
- Add warm water a few drops at a time until the texture spreads easily.
- Let the mixture sit for 3 minutes so the powder hydrates.
How to use it
- Apply to damp mid-lengths and ends, not an irritated scalp.
- Comb through gently with fingers or a wide-tooth comb.
- Leave on for 8–12 minutes.
- Rinse very well, then shampoo lightly if hair feels coated.
Frequency and safety
Use once every 2–3 weeks. Patch test first, protect towels from plant-powder staining, and skip if your scalp is irritated, itchy or broken.
Quick checklist
- Small batch only.
- Keep away from eyes.
- Rinse thoroughly.
