Quick note: For the smoothest texture, slice the carrot very thin or use a high-speed blender.
Ingredients
- 1 small carrot, thinly sliced or lightly steamed and cooled
- 1 peeled orange
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt or kefir
- 1/3–1/2 cup cold water
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds, optional
How to make it
- Add water, yogurt or kefir to the blender first.
- Add orange pieces and sliced carrot.
- Blend longer than usual until the carrot is fully smooth.
- Add extra water one tablespoon at a time if the texture is too thick.
Common mistakes
- Using large raw carrot chunks in a small blender.
- Skipping extra liquid, which makes the drink pulpy.
- Adding too much orange pith, which can taste bitter.
Best texture
Keep this smoothie drinkable, light and freshly blended. If it becomes too thick, add cold water, milk, kefir or coconut water one tablespoon at a time until it pours easily.
