
Why this rinse is gentle and simple
Rice water gives a light, soft-feeling rinse, while rosemary adds a fresh herbal note. This recipe is for hair lengths and scalp comfort rituals, not a medical hair-growth treatment.
Recipe ingredients
- 2 tablespoons uncooked white rice, rinsed
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 small rosemary sprig or 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Optional: 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel for extra slip
How to prepare it
- Rinse the rice until the water runs mostly clear.
- Soak rice in 1 cup warm water with rosemary for 30 minutes.
- Strain well into a clean bottle.
- If using aloe, whisk it into 1/4 cup of the strained liquid right before use.
- Use the same day; discard leftovers.
How to use it
- After shampoo, pour slowly over scalp and lengths.
- Massage lightly with fingertips for 30 seconds.
- Leave on 2–3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
- Follow with conditioner if your hair feels tangly.
