A soft summer scalp ritual

This rinse is designed for days when the scalp wants something light, fresh and easy after heat, sweat or product buildup. Hibiscus tea gives the ritual its soft pink color, while aloe vera gel keeps the feel smooth and comfortable.

Use it as a quick rinse step, not as a leave-on treatment. Keep the contact time short, rinse well, and protect light towels because hibiscus can stain.

Best for: normal to slightly oily scalps that want a fresh-feeling wash-day finish. Avoid if your scalp is irritated, scratched or freshly treated.

How to prepare

Brew a strong hibiscus tea for 8–10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
Whisk aloe vera gel with a spoonful of the cooled tea until the texture looks smooth.
Add the rest of the hibiscus tea and cool water, then stir gently.
Use the rinse the same day. Do not store homemade tea mixtures at room temperature.

How to use

After shampooing, pour the rinse slowly over the scalp and lengths, avoiding the eyes. Massage gently for about 30 seconds, leave for 2–3 minutes, then rinse well with cool or lukewarm water.

Comfort notes

  • Patch test first, especially if your scalp reacts easily.
  • Use once weekly at most.
  • Rinse immediately if the scalp tingles or feels uncomfortable.
  • Use a dark towel or old towel because hibiscus can leave color.
