Finely ground oats and a little oil make a softer body polish than harsh salt scrubs.
Main ingredients: 2 tablespoons finely ground oats; 1 tablespoon almond meal; 1 teaspoon jojoba oil; optional honey or aloe gel.

Best for

Elbows, knees, forearms or other dry-feeling body areas that tolerate gentle polishing. Do not use on freshly shaved, irritated, sunburned or broken skin.

Recipe ingredients

How to prepare

  1. Mix oats and almond meal in a small bowl.
  2. Add jojoba oil and optional honey or aloe.
  3. Add warm water slowly until the mixture becomes a soft paste.
  4. Use fresh; discard leftovers.

How to use

In the shower, massage over damp skin with very light pressure for 30–45 seconds per area. Rinse well, pat dry and follow with a simple body oil or moisturizer.

Frequency and safety

Use once weekly or less. If your skin is thin-feeling, reactive or recently exposed to strong sun, skip polishing and moisturize instead.
